Sahel students will be learners loving God and transforming their world.
The mission of Sahel Academy is to develop students through a holistic education of the highest quality while nurturing a Christ-like character and a heart of service.
Sahel Academy values an excellent education which is rigorous and holistic, focusing on the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social and physical development of the student.
Responding to the need for a quality education for missionary children in Niger, Sahel Academy opened its doors in 1986. Today as an ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and an MSA (Middle States Association) accredited school, we continue to provide a quality and affordable Christian Education to students from K-12. We serve over 160 students from more than 20 different countries. Our primary beneficiaries are the children of missionaries but Sahel Academy also opens 30% of its enrollment to anyone interested in securing a Christian education for their children.
Located in Niamey, the capital city of the West African country of Niger, Sahel Academy is owned and operated by SIM. Other mission agencies including SIL, Faith Baptist Mission and Reformed Church of America have membership agreements with the school. Together with SIM and Teach Beyond, these organizations annually provide staff who are committed to the care and education of our students.
Sahel Academy’s curriculum reflects a biblical and multinational perspective which is Christ-centered, fulfilling rigorous international academic requirements and providing learning experiences that take into account the various individual and cultural learning styles, skills and abilities of students. The school seeks to develop potential for godly living and to facilitate students’ transition into the educational institutions of their country of citizenship. Its’ goal is to produce students of intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual strength and distinction, governed by godly principles, wisely engaging every field of study and the world around them from God’s perspective.
