High School

The High School serves students in Grades 9-12 providing them with a blend of American and Cambridge International curricula. In Grades 9 and 10, students follow curriculum from the University of Cambridge, England, which prepares them to take the International General Certificate of Secondary Education exam (IGCSE). Passing these exams gives students from England, and several other countries, the recognition needed before entering the final years of secondary school in their homelands. This qualification is being recognized increasingly in the United States as well. The emphasis is on study skills, problem solving and critical thinking. Courses in Grades 11 and 12 prepare students for future studies and transition into adulthood.  Students in the upper grades have the opportunity to take a limited number of AP courses at Sahel Academy with more options offered online.

All courses taken in grades 9-12 count towards the Sahel Academy High School Diploma. In order to receive a diploma you must complete a minimum of 24 credit hours and meet the community service requirements. One credit is given for 126 hours of instruction time over a school year.
