Community Service

As Sahel students grow in relationship with God, we want to nurture within them an ability to see the world through his eyes and a heart to serve within their sphere of influence.  In order to encourage this outward focus, all students in Grades 9-12 are required to be involved in community service.  Whether they lend their hands to put on a new roof, organize a library, or play and interact with children at an orphanage, our students experience the joy of giving of their time and talents to others.

It is a joy for us to come alongside our Sahel students as they discover their God-given gifts and talents.  We are particularly passionate about developing our student leaders.  Leadertime and the ACSI Student Leadership Conference are regular opportunities for us to build into the lives of our student leaders. Middle and High School students spend time each week investing in our Elementary students through the Buddy Day program.  These relationships have a lasting impact in the lives of our elementary students and help to build a sense of community across the schools.  With representatives from each school, the Student Council works to plan and organize events that bring the staff and student body together and encourage community participation.  Middle and High School students seeking to grow as leaders have other opportunities including leading worship or prayer groups, planning and organizing outreaches and leading youth group.
